“Elwood Blues” drops in on Charleston
Who you gonna call when you need a stiff drink?
Apparently, Dan Aykroyd.
The former SNL member and “Ghostbusters'” star is in Charleston today hawking his new brand of liquor, Crystal Head Vodka.
“I used to just have my fading celebrity to talk about, but now I’ve got this great vodka,” Aykroyd said in his trademark booming voice, hat pulled low, sunglasses on.
A crowd of more than 300 people gathered at Burris Liquor Store, 415 Meeting St., just to get the opportunity to post for a photo or get an autograph. Some people waited as long at two and a half hours in the late afternoon heat.
But don’t despair Aykroyd fans, if you didn’t get a chance to see him, beginning at 8 p.m. he will be participating in a mini-pub crawl (there is also some buzz that former SNL alum and RiverDogs co-owner Bill Murray might show up as well).
